Bedizen — (v.) To decorate tastelessly; to dress gaudily or garishly.

In a sentence — Though he wasn’t prone to bedizen his living space, a second (and trusted) opinion would prove helpful to avoid such pitfalls.

proofrok:

Have you ever heard of the Fermi Paradox? It is a very simple, two-pointed statement about life in the universe: 1) It is hard to get life started, and develop basic life into intelligent life. 2) Intelligent life destroys itself in short order.

As sad and sadistic as this all sounds for Earth…

That isn’t what the Fermi Paradox deals with at all, it’s very clear you’re attempting to corrupt a serious postulation about extraterrestrial life with your own idiotic nihilism. What more to expect from Tumblr?

Yikes… Well, from the article I read and limited research into it, that’s pretty clearly what was meant.

Idiotic nihilism? That’s quite a statement. I think the Fermi Paradox is fairly straightforward. It’s not open to expostulation? Aren’t theories out there to be expounded upon?

And bashing Tumblr too? Geez.

Well you were wrong, you should put more research into a subject before you talk about it. If you had just read the first paragraph on wikipedia you would’ve learned more than you know about it right now.

It is straightforward, but you didn’t show knowledge of what it was, but instead were giving possible explanations for why the fermi paradox is true.

Where did I err? Are the two major themes incorrect?

If they are accurate, I think my extrapolation is completely viable.

For the record, I actually did read the Wikipedia page (all of it!) and a few other pages in brief.

As a vantage point, this came from a conservationist-based site’s article. The author used it to discuss our prospects on earth.

Still unsure where the issue is. Again, if those two major themes are incorrect, correct me.

wow

wow:
advancedlamb:

Despite its name, the maned wolf is not a wolf at all, nor is it a fox, coyote, or dog. It is the only member of the Chrysocyon genus, making it a truly unique animal, not closely related to any other living canid. One hypothesis for this is that the maned wolf is the last surviving species of the Pleistocene Extinction, which wiped out all other large canids from the continent.
