I wanted to be written over
I’m done with women—forever. Done. You’re all confusing and nuts and send mixed signals like it’s your job. I retire.
well, that was uncomfortable…

NBC-5 Chicago aired a piece last Sunday night painting Chicago’s urban coyote population as merciless, blood-thirsty killers. they even insinuated putting a bounty on their heads to have them all eradicated.
i wrote an angry letter (email) to them, which i finally finished tonight.
you can read that, in full, below. you can also email them and voice your own disgust. please do. email...

word of (y)our day
trip the light fantastic – verb
definition – move in a pattern, especially to music; perform a dance
I asked my grandmother if she knew this one, and she shook her head at me and said, “of course I do; who doesn’t?”
personally, I like to use this as an adjective for how those I find particularly amazing (e.g., “I think Billlyyy is trip the light fantastic.”).

i don’t ever like to preach—I think we should have all lost or stowed our soapbox by 17—but, it is good to occasionally take stock of what you’ve got.
Always count the little things. They are the most paramount part of it all.
i do have plenty to be thankful for, and I’m going to concertedly take a look into it all today.
and, tumbl-folk, I’m thankful for you all.

if you love someone enough, you’ll follow them wherever they go
– “that’s how i got to Memphis”
this idea permeated Memphis: apparently, many of the greatest Blues artists of all time ended up there while chasing a girl. any of you who’ve followed me long enough understand why this idea stung so bitterly. even still, i believe it.

pound for pound, WU LYF at the Empty Bottle was the most entertaining and enjoyable concert experience of my life.
It’s rare at a live show to have the actual thought of “I don’t ever want this to stop” cross my mind—it certainly did just that during the crowd-throbbing rendition of “Heavy Pop.”

an incredibly average Blind Pilot show was entirely redeemed by an amazing encore featuring “the night they drove old Dixie down” (seen above; probably the single best choice in covers I’ve ever been witness to [but I’m biased about that song]) and an entirely unplugged, in the audience sing-along version of “3 rounds and a sound.”
